supported the Symposium which took place in April and May of 1988 at the Dothan Opera
House, Dothan, AL . The Symposium covered 3 subtopics : 1) Emergence of science/technology
as depicted in humanities, 2) Technology, controversies & polity, 3) Technology: a
two-edged sword & the place of human values . Its purpose was to show how "humanities
fit into today’s technological society and what part such disciplines as history,
