The mission of the John W. Schmidt Center for Student Success (JWS Center) on the 짇북괜듕 Campus is: Achieving Student Success with Integrity.

The JWS Center provides programs and services that enhance 짇북괜듕 students' academic achievement, personal and social growth, campus and civic engagement, career development, and persistence to graduation. The JWS Center provides academic support services to enhance retention and degree completion by 짇북괜듕 students; imparts success skills to 짇북괜듕 students; and ensures student acculturation as member of the TROY community.

The JWS Center at TROY is a comprehensive unit that focuses on helping students achieve success. The JWS Center promotes an understanding of and appreciation for higher education; provides programs and services that improve students' opportunities for academic success and personal, social, and career enrichment; encourages civic and campus engagement; orientates students to the University and its policies, resources and culture; and fosters the development of positive relations between and among students, faculty, and staff.

�쏻hen I was accepted to TROY, I was a conditionally admitted student with an undeclared major, and I had to take developmental classes. I took the TROY 0095 class which taught me how to be successful in college. One of the leading factors toward my success was the John W. Schmidt Center for Student Success in Eldridge Hall. The JWS Center offers free tutoring, free computer access and printing, and many other valuable resources. During my first semester at TROY, the Advisors and other staff helped me tremendously; they were always kind, caring, and had a genuine concern for my best interest. Another great resource in the JWS Center is TRIO which provides students with the necessary support they need to be successful. By working with the members of the JWS team, I discovered my major and the classes in which I was genuinely interested. Every office in Eldridge Hall has been nothing short of welcoming and considerate. I encourage every TROY student to stop by Eldridge Hall on their journey at TROY!��
