Biographical Sketch: Leroy Barkley was a student as George C. Wallace Community College-Dothan [AL] and
played baseball for the Wallace Governors from 1976-1978. He was the first student
athlete to win National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) All-American and
went on to win the same award for a second time in 1978. Mr. Barkley was also named
to both the Alabama Junior College Conference (AJCC) All-Region Team & the Alabama
Junior College Conference (AJCC) All-Conference Team in 1978. His jersey, #20, was
retired in 1980. As of 2015, he resides in Graceville, FL.
