NATO at Seventy

A Strategic Examination of the Past, Present, and Future of the Atlantic Alliance

ϱ wishes to cordially invite you to attend an event dedicated to celebrating the seventieth anniversary of NATO.  The conference “NATO at Seventy: A Strategic Examination of the Past, Present, and Future of the Atlantic Alliance” will take place at the ϱ Montgomery campus on November 1st and 2nd.  The conference is funded by a NATO Public Diplomacy Grant and it will feature addresses by diplomats, academics, military experts, and policy makers.  The conference features four panels that focus on the history and value of maintaining security through cooperation.  The topics include the history of NATO, cyber and hybrid threats, current regional operations and threats, and future threats to the alliance.  Ambassador Robert Hunter, the U.S. Ambassador to NATO from 1993-1998, will provide an address on Friday afternoon and the conference will close with an address from a NATO representative. 

The event is free and open to the community.  Attendees need to register with Mrs. Melissa Neff at mneff@troy.edu.  Snacks and a lunch on Saturday will be provided.
